INHER S.A. will be exhibiting the Kistler XY monitor maXYmos NC at the Africa Automation Fair 2015 in Johannesburg.

The fair aims to be the largest, most comprehensive exhibition of Industrial Control Technologies of its kind in the southern hemisphere, attracting both local and international exhibitors and visitors.

The maXYmos NC specializes in monitoring and controlling NC Joining Modules. In detail, it controls, monitors, evaluates and documents XY progressions for joining and press-fitting processes in combination with NC joining modules and the associated servo amplifier IndraDrive.  The shape of the measurement curves allow the quality of individual manufacturing steps, assembly groups or even an entire product to be monitored and controlled in real-time. Commissioning is easy via PC or using the optional touch screen.  Various fieldbus interfaces are available to connect to the control system.

Towards the end of last year, INHER S.A. conducted the PROGRAMMA TM1600 Training Programme at the company’s onsite training facility.

Seven trainees from Actum High Voltage attended this two-day intensive programme.  The objective of the course was to give the attendees both theoretical guidance as well as practical experience in circuit breaker testing ensuring the correct use of this specialised equipment as well as effective interpretation of the recorded data.

Key theoretical topics covered included: timing, coil current, DRM measurements, velocity, acceleration, curve interpretation, product overview and computer aided breaker analysis software.  The attendees were then given the opportunity for practical experience in; creating a new breaker definition, creating a new test, setting up and connecting a TM1600 for a test, making a new recording, viewing and analyzing selected recording(s), saving the recorder data as well as taking corrective action from the recorded data.

Overall, the course empowered technical personnel to make the correct decisions during preventative maintenance as well as supported them in the commissioning of new installed equipment.

INHER S.A. has recently completed a sodium chloride purification and re-crystallization plant on a semi-turnkey basis for Messrs Cerebos Limited in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

The plant is unique in that it produces sodium chloride from seawater through limited solar evaporation followed by thermal concentration, crystallization and drying/cooling.  The sodium chloride is produced continuously and is untouched by hand from seawater to the final packed product.  A purity in excess of 99.9% sodium chloride is attained.
